Apple dropped the iPhone 7 earphone jack for a speaker grille … yet no speaker

Hawk peered toward Apple fans aggravated by the nonattendance of a 3.5mm earphone attachment on the iPhone 7 Plus may have been to some degree mollified by indications of another speaker in its place. The line of openings, giving the base of the telephone a satisfying symmetry, indicated at something going ahead inside.

Be that as it may, a teardown by repair organization iFixit has uncovered the grille to be just a stylish decoration.

"Nearer assessment demonstrates another, second lower speaker grille that leads … no place? Intriguing," composed iFixit in its documentation of the teardown procedure.

A bigger haptic input framework, the alleged Taptic Engine, and a marginally bigger battery consume up the room emptied by the now repudiated telephone connector attachment. The second speaker in Apple's stereo pair is basically the earpiece speaker at the highest point of the telephone.

Which just leaves one other inquiry: why you would bore more gaps into the base of a cell phone you're attempting to waterproof, for no clear reason? Just Sir Jony Ive knows the response to that.
